Repost from Love Seven Publishing:
Jasmine Garner is back with a hot new BWWM interracial romance novel: Catch Me If You Can. This novel features a woman running from her past as she tries to create a fresh life for herself. There’s danger, twists, and above all else: love. The romance has no cheating, no cliffhanger, and a guaranteed happily ever after. We chatted with Jasmine after publishing her latest.
Q: Catch Me is your first novel published since early this year. How did you feel writing it? Was it difficult to get back into the writing flow?
A: This story was an avalanche. Once I created the outline and began writing, the words flew out of me effortlessly. I know exactly who Levi and Tamara are, and I knew where their relationship was heading. Not being able to write much this summer was rough. The longer I went without writing, the more I itched to get back to my computer. Once I did, ideas flowed freely.
Q: What was your biggest concern about the storyline, i.e., pacing, the climax, etc.?
A: The antagonist, for sure. I don’t want to give too much away about the character, but he’s an absolutely wicked man. I wanted him to be beyond deplorable without stepping out of the realm of reality. But as I researched- read online and interviewed people with a similar story as Tamara- I realized that not only was a man like him possible, but the terrifying scenarios he puts her through happens more often than I ever would have imagined. The antagonist is not only realistic, but a testament to the strength, perseverance, and bravery of survivors.
Q: You haven’t written as much this year as previous years, but you’ve been far from lazy. You have a new baby! How has your first year been?
A: Chaos, exhaustion, and fighting to maintain my sanity! Now that I’m back to work, my goal is to create a more intense publishing schedule, one unlike anything I’ve attempted before. It sounds crazy, as my daughter is still a handful, but for the first time in my life, I’m on a strict schedule. I was worried that staying home with her would decimate my writing time, and for the first few months it did, but now that we have a routine that we have to stick with, I have more time than I’ve ever had before to create.
Q: You participated in National Novel Writing Month, or NaNoWriMo, this year. How did you do?
A: NaNoWriMo is an annual challenge where writers in every stage of their careers huddle behind their computers and attempt to write an entire novel within the month. This was my fifth or sixth year competing, and my second year winning! Not only did I write a book last month, but I was already on a roll, and had an almost completed one done in October as well. The writing was frantic, and many rounds of edits will be required before the story sees the light of day, though.
Q: What’s next for you? Anything more coming out in 2017?
A: Yes! In fact for the next month to month and a half, I will be releasing at least three more stories. I have a good idea of what my January/February novels will be, but I’m trying not to think too hard about them right now. For the rest of the year, my focus is on reviewing edits, polishing stories, and getting them live in the Kindle store as soon as possible.
